Outfits that you should Avoid Wearing on any Wedding
Getting ready for Weddings is fun, especially when it’s not you who is getting committed to a life-long relation! There are a few gray areas when it comes to appropriate wedding guest attire. Whether you’re a man or a woman, dressing appropriately for a wedding can be a bit tricky.
Fashion is not necessarily about labels. It’s not about brands. It’s something else that comes from within you, which gives you confidence. Here is a handpicked list of 10 things you should never wear to a wedding.
No matter how casual the wedding is, attending in jeans and a T-shirt is not an option. Formal trousers might be a saving grace. There are some occasions when wearing denim is way too casual or just impractical, and you need to draw the line. Making denim work for a wedding is tough.
2. Sweats of Any Kind
When it comes to a wedding ceremony, we should understand the appropriate dress code. This goes without saying that sweats and hoodies should never be a part of any wedding. Any type of loungewear is strictly forbidden at a wedding.
3. Animal Print
Say no to the leopard, zebra, and giraffe print. Polka dot dresses and other patterns are still considered cute, but animal prints are likely to draw attention to you, meaning you’re taking attention away from the bride. Instead you could try something elegant, plain or may be floral.
Shorts make one look very causal. Even if it’s the theme wedding or beach wedding, go for linen pants or lightweight chinos paired with a button-down shirt for a breezy, cool look that is good for the sand while staying within wedding-day style code.
We love wearing flip- flops all the time but no matter what your excuses are, these are not meant for a wedding. It sounds like we are being awfully picky about footwear. But flip flops don’t belong at weddings. If heels are not your thing, go with wedges, platforms or sandals to save the trouble and look good.
6. A lot of Make Up
You do not want to look different then other. So, stick with the makeup that is tried, tested and you’re absolutely sure of unless it is subtle. This will boost your confidence and help you get many compliments.
7. Anything That Makes You Look Dressier Than the Bride
Value the feeling of a bride & groom and wear something lighter than them. As attending a wedding that is not your own, and wearing something dressier than bride and groom will make you look like attention seekers. Most of these are a matter of courtesy and etiquettes.
8. Your Own Wedding Dress
It’s necessary not to wear your own wedding dress in someone else’s wedding. When attending a wedding that is not your own, do not wear your wedding dress. As you may get many compliments but it will be purposeless for the bride and groom then.
Black is traditionally a no-go color at weddings, especially for women. And it’s never a good idea to wear anything that could conceivably be mistaken for a wedding dress. However, you can save it for a fancy date night.
10. Pinchy Shoes
This is just a practicality thing. Find a pair of heels you can walk around in comfortably, and that you can keep on while you dance and have fun in the wedding. Don’t opt for shoes that are creating difficulty and pain for your feet!
Hope these ideas will help you to look good. As the least, we could do is follow the dress code.
